COPPER AND THE USE OF HORSES
If you enjoy chemistry and using a periodic table , you can find Copper ( Cu ) in Group 11 . You might not know this but Copper is among the most important industrial metals used in manufacturing . Copper is used in various forms ; pipes , vehicles , technology ( cell phones , computer chips , etc ), machinery , guns , and wires . The copper wiring and piping assisted in modernizing homes . How did Copper make the Five C ’ s list ? Settlers came from the East coast and the West coast looking to mine Copper . Copper was one of the most valued riches provided from the Earth . The mining was done underground with the help of machinery and mules . Although mules were mostly used , horses were their second-hand to pull freight with wagons . Horse were used for transportation to and from the hard to reach mines . For example , the mines in the Superstition Mountains , Globe , Jerome , and Bisbee .
