around them to a smaller and smaller
bubble? This indicates a possible lie,
protection against discovery. Watch
to see whether or not their gestures
match their words. Do their expressions line up? Try to get this person
to make eye contact. If they look off
to the left over and over, it’s a keen
indicator that they are uncomfortable
with their words and likely telling
a tale. Encourage them to look into
your eyes and continue. If they look
away, draw them back over and over
until, eventually, the desired effect
will slowly, but sure ease out the
truth.
Truth Serum

Buddha once said, “Three things cannot be
long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.”
In a world where hoaxes are as easy
as photoshop and video editing,
where it can be argued that our perception of reality, right, wrong and
the truth of the world around us has
been altered by our digital universe,
the question becomes: how is one to
get down to the truth of the matter?
How easy it is to tell a lie from behind a keyboard, or from the relative
safety of indignant anonymity. In a
society where it is more acceptable
to trade in one for the next, place it
aside and keep both, or simply throw
it all away like yesterday’s instant
coffee; in relationships built upon necessity, boredom or the convenience
of proximity, our teenage lives are
spilling out into the adult world. A
true friendship is tricky enough, but
an honest one? Well, that’s near on
impossible.
So how does one get down to
the nitty gritty? How do we not only
recognize when the truth is being
told, but convince the un-truther to
give it up? There are a few tricks of
the trade, but first things first, to get
to the truth, you have to know when
a lie is being told. This isn’t always
the easiest part and it can’t always
be taught. A great deal of recognizing a lie is instinct. But not j W7B琦
