It enjoys a unique location near the world-renowned heritage site, the Cradle of Humankind. Cradlestone Mall offers shoppers an all-inclusive range of retail, restaurant and leisure variety under one roof. To ensure maximum accessibility, the developers invested R60 million widening Hendrik Potgieter leading to the intersection, as well as upgrading the interchange at the corner of Hendrik Potgieter and the R28. The project was completed over a period of 22 months, which was an excellent accomplishment considering various labour and material challenges experienced on site. As in most retail and commercial developments, building cost is directly related to a required yield and thus also poses the difficult challenge of producing a cost effective design without sacrificing architectural creativity or quality of finishes. This design specifically represents an attempt at achieving just such a balance.
