SIKA CHOSEN FOR KHI SOLAR POWER PLANT Soaring 205 metres up from the arid landscape on the outskirts of Upington, in the Northern Cape, is Khi Solar One (KSO), the first solar power tower in Africa. It forms part of the Khi Solar thermal power plant that covers an area of 140 hectares. Having supplied numerous high quality products for the tower and its surrounding concrete structures, Sika has played a significant role in this innovative project. The 50MW Khi Solar One power plant was developed by Spanish company, Abengoa, a global leader in solar thermal energy. It was this company that specified Sika’s products for the project. www.sika.co.za CENTURY CITY IS BOOMING WITH NEW DEVELOPMENT TOTALLING R4,3 BILLION Century City is booming with new hospitality, residential and commercial developments totalling more than R4,3 billion recently completed, under construction or in the pipeline.
