AN EMPHASIS ON OVERLAPPING GRIDS AND MODULES, RIGOROUS ALIGNMENTS AND PRECISELY CRAFTED BESPOKE FINISHES CHARACTERISE BOTH THE DEVELOPMENT AND THE RESIDENTIAL INTERIORS. MSMR’s design approach for the interiors used contrasting colours and textures to complement RSHP’s concept for the façade which juxtaposes handmade brick with light aluminium frames and etched glass. The kitchens are bespoke adaptations of Bulthaup’s B3 system, with smooth natural aluminium contrasting with dark-stained, cross-cut oak finishes to create a visual and textural richness. The light-stained oak flooring is arranged in a precise grid pattern, relating to the structural grid of the building. This grid pattern flows through into the marble flooring of the bathrooms and forms the backdrop for travertine feature walls and large vanity benches, which are enclosed within a timber portal referencing the grids and framing devices employed by RSHP in the façade of the building. Elsewhere in the apartment, textured metal finishes echo the textured lining applied to the common areas of the scheme and the spa and fitness suite in the basement. MSMR have worked closely with the developer Native Land on a number of residential scheme’s across the capital including, Cheyne Terrace, Holland Park Villas and NEO Bankside.
