Conversation with Anna Piotrowska from Green Home Design from Poland Q: Where the idea for those beautiful products came from? A: As it was when I was a child, and now as an artist and designer, finding the many joys within a beautiful design is the best pleasure. I’ve dreamed about creating the timeless product, that will serve and joy over the generations. As I observed that the wood elements have become quite popular to use for the kitchen and bathroom interior designs, I decided immediately that I would like to contribute this trend. Currently, handcrafted wooden taps and mixers are the joy of my work. Q: Please, could you explain your company mission and philosophy? Our philosophy is delivered through our products, products that possess both a functional beauty and superb technical performances for a lifetime. These products are all our original and unique designs, that go through stringent testing and development to bring you peace of mind for all our products' long lifetime. Our products are handcrafted from only selected high-quality woods such as European oak, Black walnut, African mahogany – sapele. These woods are chosen for their immaculate aesthetic and their durability. Both are equally important. Q: How is the wood waterproofed? The wood is selected for its dense structure, colour and orientation of the wood grain to provide both uniqueness and aesthetic quality for the final product. Before the manufacturing process, the wood is subjected to specialised, long- duration drying techniques to ensure the durability of the product. This also ensures the product retains its shape, is durable and resists deformation, even after many years of use. Then through using a unique impregnation process and technologies modified from techniques in yacht-building engineering, our wood is fully protected against water. The finished products are covered with a bio-resistant, waterproof and safe multi-layer varnish coat. It is easy to clean and perfectly highlights the natural beauty of the wood. How do you clean the taps? The wooden components will only require a gentle cleaning with soap and water on a soft cloth or sponge. Where lime scale may gather on the chrome base of the tap unit, there are many soft brushes and cleaning solutions available to deal with limescale on the metal components. We offer 5 years standard manufacturer warranty that applies to all our taps and mixers. www.greenhomedesign.uk
