Automation systems specialists Nice exhibited at the 100%
Design show in September. The focus of their stand was their Era
Inn system for the motorisation of internal blinds, which is ideal
for commercial and domestic projects.
Era Inn was developed with a focus on ease of use, the quietness of
the motors and perfect alignment. A sensitive obstacle detection
feature ensures safety is at the heart of the system.
Visitors to the 100% Design stand were especially impressed
with the product’s “perfect alignment” capability, which staff
demonstrated using two working examples of the Era Inn system.
Its variable torque and variable speed motors ensure perfect
alignment regardless of the blind’s fabric thickness or tube
size. Like all Nice products, Era Inn was designed and tested in
the company’s dedicated research and development labs. It can
withstand long-term intensive use, with minimal maintenance
required.
Era Inn has the ability to interface with Building Management
Systems and contributes to the overall lighting and temperature
efficiency of the building. Automated solar shading solutions have
been proven to be an effective way of meeting energy efficiency
targets.
Alongside the working Era Inn stations on the stand, Nice
showcased their range of control systems. The touchless Air
system, which can be controlled with a simple “up and down” hand
movement, was on show alongside many handheld alternatives.
Agio, a smart 4-channel radio transmitter, can be charged using a
wall-mounted or table-top charger base (which uses a USB input,
allowing the base to charge mobile devices as well). Practical and
elegant, Agio is available in three colours – deep black, crimson
red and traffic white.
100% Design was the flagship event of the annual London
Design Festival and took place on 20th to 23rd September at the
London Olympia. The exhibition attracted over 27,000 industry
professionals from the UK and around the world.
