INTRODUCTION
The South Texas Economic Development Center (STEDC) is a regional research and outreach
unit of the College of Business at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Established in September
2014, the Center focuses on interdisciplinary research in support of sustainable economic and
business development in South Texas.

economic and community development in South Texas, particularly the Coastal Bend region.
The Center provides consulting, education, research and data services to community stakeholders,
