DIVERSIFICATION OR SPECIALIZATION
According to the Location Quotients, Corpus Christi’s economy relies on development in
the oil and gas, construction and manufacturing sectors. For Laredo, in addition to oil and gas
activity, the transportation and warehousing sector is a key source of economic growth. For San
Antonio, its financial sector also appears to be a key economic driver. The healthcare and retail
sectors are major drivers for the Brownsville economy.
