The effect of migrants on Corpus Christi’s housing market is evident in the accompanying chart, which shows the area’s inventory stock since 2009 and the number of migrants as a percent of local population. Before 2011, more residents moved out of the area than persons moving into the area, meaning a negative net migration of the local population. This negative net migration trend was reversed in 2011.
