Not only did they have the opportu- nity of a three day Clinic, a show, but they also got to go to the Melbourne and Seville Zoo and Pakenham saddleries. On Wednesday 10th of October the eight of them travelled to Melbourne for the first time for a week, accompanied by their coaches, Celine Lasbleiz and Justine Vallette-Morlet. That night they touched base at Patricia Wettenhall’s wonderful Bed and Breakfast at Seville East. The Youth, Laura, Margot, Victoria, Elsa, Chloé, Clara, Florian and Kewell, were aged from seven -15 and were kindly loaned different horses by their fabulous owners. ‘Trish’ trained all of these horses and the Youth had the difficult task of getting to know their new mounts in only three days. They learned how to ‘hug’ your horse the Southern Campdraft Association AQHA Awards. A big thank you to the AQHA who spon- sored both the SCA Annual 2017-2018 Highest scoring Registered All Round and Rookie Horse categories, each received an AQHA Embroidered Rug. The 2017/2018 season of the Southern Campdraft Association saw the mare, Roanies Cut Em Loose Q-53289 awarded the Highest Placed registered Australian Quarter Horse in the All Round Champion category. ‘Triandibo way’ – without spurs and no stirrups. After several trials and aching muscles, every child accomplished what they set out to do. During the clinic, Trish explained Show- manship techniques, Horsemanship and English Classes, as these were classes they weren’t familiar with. This was cer- tainly a huge learning curve for them all. Lunchtime rolled around and thanks to Linda Cavallo’s directions and Google Maps, the Youth were treated to a visit to Seville Zoo and Pakenham saddleries. A nice way to show a bit of Australia to these Youth from another land. Sunday was show day and it was a big day. The alarm was set for 4am, and Trish had the works ready for breakfast, before they packed their gear and headed for the floats to load up, and head for the show at the Peninsula Quarter Horse Association in Merricks, Victoria.
