Hi Fellow Amateur Team Members Survey Monkey Well done to all the Amateurs who filled in the Amateur Division Survey Monkey questions. The Survey gives every Amateur the opportunity to give realistic feedback to the Committee and the AQHA. This information allows the Amateur Division to formulate our Busi- ness Plan and meet the needs of its members. Here is your feedback. Survey sent on the 8th, 13th, 18th, 22nd and 29th August 2018. Survey closed on the 2nd September 2018. Survey Statistics Information collated from the Survey. (not all answers will be in this report, but all information will be sent to the AQHA). Response - Inclusion - Friendship - Progression from Novice… Amateur… Select Am - Extra Halter Classes - Pattern Events Q14 Why you do not enter the Teams Challenge events. Response - Lack of confidence - Only at State Shows, need at every Show - Not good enough - Don’t enter enough events - Not asked MOI - Just enter and have a go!!!!! - You only need 2 events. - You will lose nothing, but gain more friends etc Q16 What would you like done for the AQHA Amateurs? Responses - More Clinics - Multiple Clinics in each State - More socializing - Team Challenges at all Shows - Amateur Facebook page, to ask questions and get answers - more prize money Q17 Magazine suggestions Response - Training Tips - Fashion Tips for Showing (horse and rider) - Preparation Tips for horses - Article on how to start as an Amateur Q19 Other suggestions Responses - Reward the riders who train their own horses - Encourage Improvers to become Amateurs - Amateur Committee is very ‘hands on’ - Praise for the Amateur Division Committee, attempting to promote and help all Amateurs. The positive comments for the Clinics that have been run so far, was overwhelming. Some riders would like the opportunity to ride in other States’ Clinics, as their horses reside in these States. This concept needs more thought, as the Committee does not have access to any Amateur information, except for each State’s email addresses. By accessing emails only, the Survey is beyond reproach, both equitable and transparent. This ensures every Amateur has the opportunity to attend Clinics/Events without Committee favouritism. Each Survey is sent to every Amateur at exactly the same time and so far, nobody that applied for a Clinic in any State was denied a position. It is time for the Amateurs to start riding, socializing, meeting new people and having fun with your ponies!!!
