I especially love working with the babies, and was
successful this year at Q19 winning the 2yo lunge line
with Suddenly Barzoned aka Bailey. I am very passionate
about the Quarter Horses and western showing and hope
to keep the industry positive and continue encouraging
other keen amateurs and youth riders.
I started riding horses as a young child. My father had
standardbreds and I used to mouth them and ride them
all bareback before he broke them in to the cart. Congratulations and Good luck
to our Trans-Tasman Competitors

I did pony club with a borrowed pony and eventually got
my own horse, a thoroughbred mare that I then went on
to do eventing. As the Show season winds down and we look forward to
the new seasons foals to arrive.
Introducing our new Committee Member…..
Justine Jones:
In 1988 I did my Year10 work experience at Alamar
Training Stables with the late Bernard McAneney. That’s
where my love of the Quarter Horses began. I spent
every minute I could with Bernard learning western and
the foundations of good horsemanship. He was mentor
and my idol, an accolade now resonating in my daughter
Nikita Noakes, who continues to inspire me sharing a
passion for the quarter horses between us. We are both
amateurs and pride ourselves on training and showing our
own horses together.
Good luck to all those that are in contention for the
AQHA Hi-Point Awards. The Amateur Committee look
forward to meeting you at the AQHA AGM in Melbourne
in October 2019.
Don’t hesitate to meet and greet any of your Committee
whilst you are out and about.
Please be safe and enjoy our Quarter Horses, fun always
out ways.
I love the journey of development and our current show
horse RQH Cee A Dream aka Sid, has been our greatest
journey so far. He is just amazing.
My highlight was winning high point amateur junior horse
at Q15 with Sid.
Cheers Leonie Gorski
