PG.36 SHOW REPORTS The OPEN CLASSIC CHALLENGE saw the winner, Troy Randell riding his mare ‘Spin N Metallic Q-77405’. The Reserve Champion, was Jamie Creek on ‘QXH Hydrive Lady Q80125’. In third place, on a score of 218 points, Phil Dawson rode Pam Drew’s beautiful mare, ‘Beccy’s Merada Q-92884’. The NON-PRO GOLD CUP, sponsored by SDM Quarter Horses had a field of 34 riders, with Kim Campbell, who crossed the time line first on ‘Whos Moonshine Q-67084’, holding the title throughout, with a score of 219 points, to be crowned the Non Pro Gold Cup Champion. They took home a Perpetual Silver Trophy, plus many other prizes. The Non-Pro Gold Cup Reserve Champion was Shelley Ruff and ‘Metallictoy Q-92432’ with a 217.5 score. The OPEN GOLD CUP, held on Sunday the 2nd June, was sponsored by Dee Bar Cutting & Performance Horses. Scoring 220.5 points, Dean Holden, on board Julie and Jeffrey Jones’s red roan, Stallion ‘Playin With Pepto Q-54682’ (aka Fooee) claimed the Open Gold Cup Champion title. The Open Gold Cup Reserve Champion was a tie between Lindsey Wheatley on board Metallictoy Q-92432’ and Jamie Seccombe with ‘Hell I’m Smooth Q-81146’ on a score of 218 points. Thursday the 6th June was action packed with 2 finals, the new Working Dog Trials event and the return of the Celebrity Cutting. First event of the day was the $30,000 NON-PRO FUTURITY SALE INCENTIVE, with automatic eligibility to NCHA sale- horses from 2017. The Final of the Ariat Australia LIMITED NON PRO FUTURITY, boasted 8 finalists, with Julie Jones coming out victorious on the beautiful ‘Hard Hat Ashlee Q-85231’ and scoring 210 points, to be crowned the 2019 Limited Non Pro Champions.
