Roderick Insurance Brokers Victorian Quarter Horse State Championship Show Photographer - Ev Lagoon Western District Quarter Horse Association (WDQHA) welcomed back naming right sponsor, Roderick Insurance Brokers, for the 2019 Victorian Quarter Horse State Championship Show. Following three days of competing at WDQHA’s prestigious Sun n Surf Showcase from Monday 28 January to Wednesday 30 January, we commenced the 2019 Victorian Quarter Horse State Championship Show. The show this year was held at the beautiful Werri- bee Park National Equestrian Centre from 31 January to 3 February with Lynda Danielson (USA) judging and Jan Smith judging the non-traditional events. Day 1 We started the show with the Halter and John Kemp was successful in showing Scored Big Time to Grand Champion Colt/Stallion. The 2-year- old gelding, Jack Da Ripper, owned and showed by Leanne Attard took out both Grand Champion Gelding and Amateur Gelding. Sharon Winter and her horse, Who Ya Been Kissin, took out Grand Champion American Gelding and Reserve Grand Champion Gelding and Amateur Gelding. In the mare department, 3-year-old Filly, BM Intentional, owned and shown my Helen Barnes was unbeatable, taking out Grand Champion Mare, American Mare and Amateur Day 2 Mare. Glamorous To a Tee, owned and shown by Sharron Winter was successful in taking out both Reserve Grand Champion Mare in both the Open and American Divisions. Jason Shaw showed his mare to Reserve Grand Champion Amateur Mare. The day progressed with Show- manship and Lunge Line, before starting ridden events with Ranch Riding. This event was once again well supported with 41 ranch riding runs. Lynda Cavallo’s Triandibo Su- per Diva, ridden by Trish Wettenhall, won the All Age Ranch Riding from a strong field of 19. The day concluded with Western Riding and Reining. 28 • The Australian Quarter Horse Magazine • March • April• 2019 This day started off with 22 Dres- sage tests, with HL Theodore and LT Zips So Smooth proving to be the best Dressage horses on the day. HL Theodore owned by Janet Mansley continued on with his success, taking out Grand Champion Hack, (spon- sored by Urban Trails), with Chanele Hunter-Cooke riding. The traditional events continued with Hunter In Hand, Hunter Under Saddle and Hunt Seat Equitation. Rachel Elliott was unbeatable in the Hunter in Hand Division, taking out first place in the Junior Hunter In Hand, with Zip Some Moore and Sheza Good Design in the Senior
