Canyon, located 45 miles northwest of the Las Vegas Valley, are Desert Gray Matters 5K Walk/Run | May 21 Nevada (I.C.A.N.), a nonprofit organization addressing the chal- lenges facing today’s youth, recognizes this dilemma, and are offering a sleep away summer camp program designed to teach kids ages 11-17 to make smart decisions, maintain their stress levels and educate others on drug prevention, while becoming self reliant, successful peer leaders. There’s nothing better than exercising with the kids. It sets a great example for creating healthy habits while bringing the entire clan closer together. Throw the bikes into the car and head over to the Henderson Events Plaza, located at 200 Water St., for a crazy ride the entire family will enjoy. For those with little ones, there’s a leisurely, kid-friendly ride, while older kids and parents can go diehard, tackling a 15-mile guided group ride throughout the trails.
