Vision & Voice WHAT IS THE MOST VALUABLE MARKETING TOOL? We believe that a key marketing tool for the eyewear industry is social media. In today’s climate, it isn’t enough to just have a website, you need to be active on multiple social media platforms in order to interact with your customer base on a level that traditional marketing channels can't. Social media allows us to engage our customers while we continue to build brand awareness and tell our story. Beverly Suliteanu, WestGroupe Vice President Product Development; Creative Director We definitely feel social media is a great way to link up with our customers, share more personal anecdotes and connect with people on a different level. We are also still strong supporters of Independents focusing on the importance of building their own brand. We work in an industry where brand is often king, so focusing on your brand through social media, advertising and just what you do differently compared to others is very important in our eyes. We are happy to help our customers build their brand. Paul Storace, Alternative Eyewear/Plan B Owner I am huge believer in “Service”; I think great “Service” will result on positive word of mouth which is the most compelling advertising format. I believe Social Media, advertising campaigns will bring masses of more transient and non-loyal customers who may gravitate to another Social Media, advertising campaigns soon after. Word of mouth mixed with social media and direct to client marketing is the best way to reach your customers. It is important to take the time to engage on all levels to discover the needs of your clients as well as offer them the highest level of service. Networking with industry peers is also important to discover what tools have worked for other businesses so that you can integrate them into your company best practices.
