Dear Prospective Fresno State Students,
Thank you for your interest in becoming a part of the Fresno State family. Nothing is
more important to us than the success of our students. We believe an important aspect of
your success is your living arrangements.
When you consider the different housing options around Fresno State, I would like you to
take special notice of University Courtyard, Fresno State’s only official on-campus
student housing. It is my hope that all students get to experience what it is like to live on a
college campus because it is truly a part of life that students cherish long after their
college days have ended.
University Courtyard has many aspects that make it the best housing choice for students.
One of these aspects is academic success. One of our core missions at Fresno State is to
see our students thrive academically and graduate in a timely manner. Living on-campus
is proven to help you do just that. On-campus housing students are statistically shown to
graduate sooner and have a higher GPA than the campus average.
In addition to academic success, on-campus living provides our students with the
convenience of being close to classes and resources. Being on-campus allows residents to
spend less time getting to class and more time studying or enjoying university life.
Residents can attend events or meet with study groups without worrying about finding
parking or spending money on gas.
Another aspect of on-campus living that sets it apart from other housing options is the
people you will meet. You will be living alongside 1,100 residents that are in the same
stage of life you are. With over 360 social and academic events per year, with total
attendance over 12,000 students combined, you will have opportunities to meet new
people and make friendships that will last a lifetime.
The final aspect of on-campus living I will touch on is safety. The well-being of our
students is one of the top priorities in the campus community. Living on-campus you will
have the protection of Public Safety Assistants as well 24/7 access to our University
Police Department.
