n behalf of the Lakeville Area Chamber
of Commerce and Visit Lakeville Tourism,
we welcome you to Lakeville. Whether you
are a resident, visitor or doing business in our
community we are glad to have you here!
T
he City of Lakeville is a thriving community that embraces
growth while remembering and honoring our history. With a
population now estimated to be over 63,000 and growing at a rate
among the fastest in the Twin Cities, we look forward to continued
expansion in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors of our
economy.
Our residents are among Lakeville’s greatest assets as they support
our local economy, schools, parks and trails, and our business
community. Our business environment includes everything from a
historic downtown to numerous retail centers, to an industrial park
with access to air, rail and freight services. We are proud that our city
is home to numerous corporate campus facilities, manufacturers,
restaurants and a multitude of retail options.
We are blessed with significant educational and sports opportunities
for children and adults. We are served by public and private schools,
and a strong and diverse faith community. We love to celebrate
our community with events like an annual arts festival and our
community celebration named Panorama of Progress held over the
4th of July week.
Five years ago, the city adopted our “Envision Lakeville” strategic plan.
This plan, which was updated in 2018, identified several community
values, some of which include “Good value for public services”,
“Safety throughout the community”, and “A sense of community and
belonging.” As a 35- year resident, I have witnessed these values in
action and know that our community is even greater now than when
my family first moved here. I hope that whether you are coming here
to spend your vacation, expand or build your business, or consider
our community for your new home, that you will agree with me.
