Learn something new. This is the best time of year to check this
box. Many manufacturers and dealers are scheduling classes
on best practices or maintenance and troubleshooting and are
more than willing to put something together for your crew.
Even if it’s a half day seminar and walk around with your
crew on how to maintain your specific equipment as it applies
to your specific situations. Also, don’t forget that tradeshows
are more than a place to kick tires and gather up trinkets.
All tradeshows offer training classes as well as roundtables for
discussion. On the tradeshow floor, be sure to engage all of
the manufacturers. As a manufacturer, we enjoy hearing of
your successes as well as your challenges in the field. This is
how we learn and evolve and plan for product improvements.
Remember that the tradeshow booth is staffed with more than
salespeople, product support personnel as well as engineers
and executives are on hand to listen to your stories of success
and take notes on your suggestions.
2019 will be fun, but there will certainly be challenges. The
way we prepare ourselves in January will determine how many
headaches we will have in August.
