Advertorial COVER STORY PavementSaver Continued from page 6 own operators what they wanted and needed in a sealcoat machine. Using the feedback, along with basic engineering safety standards, the Rayner Equipment team set out to build a solutions-oriented machine. RES addressed many issues and came up with solutions and improvements for safety, re- liability, ergonomics, and performance. Safety: RES built in many safety measures and redundancies in its machine to protect operators and equipment including: • "Full load" hydrostatic brakes, spring-loaded fail-safe brakes and a real parking brake. • Neutral, parking brake and seat belt safety switches to prevent unsafe or accidental starting (the machine auto- matically applies brakes if operator leaves the seat). • Enhanced stability – a low center of gravity and wide wheelbase reduces the chance of roll over. • Traction: – single-wheel drive was replaced with an all- wheel drive system. Dryco owns five PavementSaver machines and has just ordered their sixth, keeping their crews busy while expanding the busi- ness. Reliability: RES resolved to use the best high-quality com- ponents (electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical) to ensure the machine is ready to work hard all season.
