Choose your booth activity or giveaway and determine
what you hope to gain from it.
However you decide to generate traffic to your booth, try
to pick an activity or giveaway that will provide you with as
much opportunity as possible to connect with your partici-
pants, both while you’re at the show and after. The best way
to illustrate this concept is with an example:
The Activity
Feature a photo booth with silly con-
struction props and backgrounds at
your station, and invite passers-by
to get their picture taken. Print a
take-home image for them on site
(with your logo on it, of course)
and offer to send them a digital file
after the show via email. Then, after
the show, upload the images to your
website and send participants the link.
* Bonus: Set up a flat screen TV at your booth that features
a slideshow of the images everyone’s taken so far!
The Gains
An activity like this can really get the word spreading fast
about how awesome your tradeshow booth is, which means
more people will come to your booth to take part in the fun.
Visitors get instant satisfaction because they get something
to take home right there on the spot, and it’s something they
won’t just pitch when they get there.
Not only do you now have your prospects’ email addresses,
you’ve also gotten them to visit your website and thus have
grown your retargeting audience.
A booth display like this adds yet another element that
catches people’s attention. Nothing bad about that.
Get the idea? Ultimately, you want people to want to come
to your booth, and you want a way to stay connected with
them even after they’ve gone. Whatever works for you, do it!
