INDUSTRY NEWS The smallest paver of Carlson’s CP-line, the 17,000 lbs. CP75 II features a 74 horsepow- er Deutz® turbocharged diesel engine (No DEF) for superior performance and reliabil- ity. The platform features the wide-conveyor class’ only one-piece forward tilting hood, side doors and access panel in the hopper for leading access and simple service. Already a leader in eliminating under hopper cleanout and achieving superior ef- ficiency, the CP75 II is now available with the option of two material conveyor systems. Contractors are able to choose between a traditional wide conveyor chain and slat system, or the patented High Flow Material ConveyorTM hybrid belt system, depend- ing on their applications and needs. The new option of a traditional chain and slat system, combined with the elimination of a hydrau- lic raising hopper, sets the 2019 model apart from others in its class. “The elimination of the need for a hy- draulic raising hopper is a game-changer in terms of simplifying end of day cleanout and achieving longer lifecycle of vital materi- al delivery components. With the new CP75 II, operators simply perform an undercar- riage inspection every 500 hours, or every oil change, to check for any material build up.” In addition to the class-leading conveyor systems, efficient material management is gained by the class-exclusive horizontal slid- ing damper doors. Carlson is the only manu- facturer to utilize this leading design, keeping obstructions such as utility boxes from dam- aging them while open while ensuring prop- er head of material at any width. For operators, the 2019 model enhances ergonomics and simplifies operation with all-new control stations. Screed mounted to keep relative to the operator at all times, the width of the control stations have narrowed, providing leading visibility to the augers and conveyors. The platform’s controls now fea- ture electric switch controls, direct connect steering, and folding 4.5 inch LED display for up to the second information on perfor- mance and instrument gauges. The control groups are intuitively orga- nized by function, providing full control of the platform at the fingertips of the opera- tor. According to Colwell, the organization and layout of the 2019 CP75 II’s controls mimics those of the CP85, creating com- monality across multiple platforms from Carlson. Standard on the 2019 CP75 II is the class-leading EZC815 electrically heated screed. Just like its highway-class screeds, renowned for their award-winning mat quality, Carlson has built in many of its in- dustry-leading innovations and technology into the EZC815 commercial screed that is standard on the 2019 CP75 II. From its class-exclusive 2% screed taper, true spring loaded endgates, and a host of oth- er features once reserved for highway-class screeds, the EZC815 achieves leading mat quality and performance in an 8’-15’ com- mercial-class package. The 2019 CP75 II is offered through an extensive dealer network along with Carl- son’s other leading commercial-class paver platforms.
