Jail & Warrant Unit
The City Jail operates as a
temporary holding facility for arrested
persons in Arlington. The Tarrant
County Sheriff’s Office provides
transport from the city jail to the
county jail on certain types of criminal
cases. Jail supervisors consisting
of sworn and non-sworn personnel
provide oversight of all jail operations.
Detention officers provide booking
and other important detainment
services for the department.

In 2018, there were 13,721
persons booked into jail
which was an increase of 14%
compared to 2017. Detention
officers attend yearly training to
hone their skill sets and adhere
to the training requirements set
forth by the department.
The Warrant Unit consists
of officers and professional staff who
notify persons of outstanding Class C
misdemeanor Arlington warrants. Team
members can travel to
a person’s home or place of business
to make an arrest on outstanding
warrants. There were 58,990 warrants
issued in 2018 with a total of 79,079
warrants cleared.
