West Patrol District
The West District participated
in several initiatives related to
Coach 5-0 with Arlington High
School, Coffee with a Cop
forums, and Chick-fil-A Touch a
Truck.
The Lake Patrol Unit provides
coverage during holidays and
summer to ensure safety at Lake
Arlington.
West District made a significant
arrest on a serial robber who
was targeting mobile phone
stores in the city.
West District officers attended
every Arlington High School football
game last season as part of the Coach
5-0 youth mentoring program. This is
in addition to the many practices and
events held outside of athletic times.
Coffee with a Cop forums allowed
citizens to get to meet their beat
officers and form positive relationships
with staff. During Chick-fil-A Touch a
Truck events, the district sent static
equipment
and vehicles to
demonstrate for
the public.
The Lake Patrol
Unit is responsible
for the safety of
Lake Arlington and
provides coverage
on holidays and
summer days
patrolling the
grounds and water.
The unit also held
a safety day where officers spoke to
residents and visitors about boating
safety, life jackets, and went out onto
the water to conduct several watercraft
vessel inspections.
The district was able to locate,
identify and arrest a serial robbery
suspect who had committed multiple
armed robberies of mobile telephone
stores. A patrol officer located a vehicle
of interest and made a traffic stop. The
Robbery Unit was able to link all of the
Arlington offenses to the suspect. The
district experienced a 38% reduction in
robberies in 2018.
