In September, the South District
was asked to participate in Ashworth
Elementary’s annual Pinwheel of
Peace celebration. This program is
a national program where children
design their own pinwheels of all
shapes and sizes.
One side of the pinwheel has
their thoughts written about peace,
tolerance, and living in harmony
with others. On the other side of the
pinwheel, children draw, paint, collage
pictures or create anything else that
helps them express their feelings.
All of Ashworth’s pinwheels were
placed in the ground in front of the
school on September 21 st , recognizing
the International Day of Peace.
Trunk or Treat is an annual
Halloween party hosted at the South
Patrol District which attracted over
1,200 participants in 2018. Families
are able to meet with officers and
tour law enforcement equipment.
