1 2 3 4 5 6 2018 TCOLE Achievement Award Recipients - The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement awarded the following: Public Service Award: Deputy Chief Tarrick McGuire Bridge Kids program won the 2018 Texas Municipal League Excellence Award in Public Safety Category. The Bridge Kids is an initiative to help kids at an elementary school get home safely while crossing a pedestrian bridge. Parents and neighbors expressed concerns about criminal activity and bullying near the bridge. School staff walk kids to the edge of campus where officers meet them and escort them across the bridge. DWI Enforcement Officers Stacie Brown and David Hinson were honored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) at the First Responders Appreciation Luncheon held in September. Both officers received awards for their work with young people and their commitment to remove impaired drivers from our roadways. The department partnered with Arlington ISD to purchase and install a firearms training simulator. The system is capable of training four people simultaneously on an ultra- wide, high-definition screen with over 600 scenarios. The simulator will be used by the department’s Hometown Recruiting program in addition to normal in-service training by department employees. Professional Achievement: Lt. Kyle Dishko Valor: Sgt.
