Spotlight - Records Unit Records Services performs duties related to the storage and dissemination of police records, while also being focused on providing excellent customer service. Staff is responsible for entering and retrieving various types of data, including offense reports, 911 audio, photos, video footage, and other information into and from files and automated law enforcement records management systems. Documents containing legally approved information are copied and distributed as requested by the public, internal personnel and other law enforcement agencies. Records Services assists walk- in and phone customers with filing reports, obtaining certain permits which are issued by the Police Department, fingerprinting, locating their local arrest history, and open records requests. Timely responses are also provided to email, fax and mail requests. 28 Annual Report 2017
