In October 2015, the
department hired a new
Operations Analyst. One of the
first assignments was assisting the
department with the development
of a body worn camera pilot
project. The analyst conducted
research and provided staff with
the survey data needed to make
informed decisions related to
this project. There was also an
audit conducted of the Property
and Evidence Room. Based upon
those recommendations, the
Property and Evidence Unit met its
destruction rate for property and
evidence seized during cases.
The Internal Affairs Unit
investigates complaints on
police employees. In 2015, the
unit conducted 29
formal investigations
with 19 cases
resulting in sustained
complaints. There
were two alleged racial
profiling complaints
made against police
employees. Both
investigations were determined
to be unfounded.
