Several team members were selected to teach at the annual IACP Conference in Chicago on topics ranging from media relations to small unmanned aircraft systems to executive management. Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was held at AT&T Stadium for the third time where public safety was recognized for their service to their communities. Over 200 police officers were honored during a commemorative pregame ceremony. Department personnel served as instructors for the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas on social media integration for police agencies. Police Chief Will Johnson was selected to serve on the Community-Police Relations Panel at the annual IACP Conference with national leadership of the NAACP, Seattle Police Department, and Assistant Attorney General – Office of Civil Rights. Santa Cops was a huge success as the program celebrated 30 years of providing toys and other goodies to deserving children and their families. Santa Cops parties were held at the Convention Center and assisted over 400 families including 1,200 children. Police officers even made special deliveries on Christmas Eve. 29
