Mayor’sMessage
I am pleased to
present the Arlington
Police Department’s
2014 Annual Report
and to commend the
department for its
dedicated service to
our community. Our
police department
relies on the citizens
of Arlington to partner
with us to make our neighborhoods stronger. Meeting the public
safety needs of nearly 400,000 people who call Arlington home
and millions of others who visit our city requires partnerships
with community leaders, businesses and our residents.
Arlington continues to be one of the safest cities in the country
and this is a testament to the outstanding men and women,
both uniformed and civilian, who make up the Arlington Police
Department. Under the continued leadership of Police Chief
Will D. Johnson, the department was awarded several
accolades last year.
During 2014, the department was recognized in many areas
for their innovation and robust citizen engagement efforts.
When citizens work collaboratively together, much can be
accomplished and Arlington is better because of it. It’s been a
great year and these accomplishments enhance our new city
brand, Arlington – the American Dream City.
Public safety will always remain one of our core priorities. Our
residents should be proud of our police department and look for
more ways to become involved. Please take the time to review
this Annual Report so that you can see the extraordinary work
that our police perform each and every day.
