National Night Out
The National Association of Town
Watch published its rankings of U.S.
cities who participated in National
Night Out in 2014. Arlington moved
up one place from last year to finish
4th in a national comparison of large
cities with populations greater than
300,000 people. For the past two
years, Arlington has maintained a 5th
place ranking. According to the NATW,
the rankings are based on the overall
quality of each city’s NNO campaign,
neighborhood participation, law
enforcement involvement, promotional
efforts, special events and a post
project report.
2014 Star of Texas Award
Governor Rick Perry presented
the 2014 Star of Texas Award to
Detective Charles Lodatto. This
award is Texas’ highest award
for bravery. Detective Lodatto
was serving on an FBI Task Force
charged with investigating the murder
of a six ^YX\
