FROM THE PRESIDENT MARY WESSLER | CONAM COLORADO Suppliers Support Our Industry, Here’s How You Can Support Them A s part of our continued “Members Use Members” initiative, we run a Buyer’s Guide Supplement in Apartment Trends several times per year. This is meant to serve as an update to our Annual Directory which was published last January. Though the supplement only includes phone numbers, you can find additional information at our website (www.aamdhq.org). We are excited to announce that our Supplier Membership has grown significantly during the past few years which has made it easier for apartment managers and owners to find suppliers who are engaged in the Association and support the multi-family industry. Using member organizations benefits not only the supplier members, but benefits your company as a member of AAMD. Here are five additional ways to support AAMD Supplier Members: 1. SPREAD THE WORD Did you have a good customer service experience with a specific AAMD Supplier member? Email your colleagues and let them know. Better yet, leave a favorable review on their Facebook profile or Yelp. 2. REACH OUT Suppliers want to know about any future projects that they might be able to assist you with. This will also give you a larger group when seeking bids, giving you the best price options as well as the latest information and products available. Honoring Our Past JUNE AWARDS LIVE WEDNESDAY 3. EXTEND AN INVITATION Get to know your preferred Suppliers by inviting them to your office. You could meet them for lunch or invite them to community events that you feel they could benefit from. 4. SAVE THEM TIME The larger your company, the more difficult it is for Supplier Members to know who to contact and how to do business with your organization. You can help them avoid frustration by directing them to the primary decision makers in your company and helping them work through the red tape. 5. EDUCATE, AND BE EDUCATED Many suppliers are new to the industry and, therefore, do not understand the legislative strength that is provided through their membership dues. Communicate with them to ensure that they realize how truly vital their participation is to the success of the association. Similarly, Suppliers have a unique perspective of their field and possess a great deal of knowledge about what they do and the services they provide. Their expertise could be your ticket to fewer vacancies.
