State Capitol Day Draws Over 100 Attendees

Colorado Apartment Association members had the opportunity to meet with several state legislators during the annual State Capitol Day . " Politics and Pizza " kicked off the event over lunch at the Capitol Hill Tavern . The lunch was the kickoff for the government affairs focused day . The event was held in conjunction with NAIOP , IREM and ICSC on February 24th .
Several attendees participated in a tour of the Capitol shortly after the lunch . After the tour , attendees headed to the legislator reception at the University Club just a couple blocks from of the Capitol . Over 100 attendees were able to network with legislators and discuss Colorado ' s real estate market .
Representatives of each industry group were able to share information about proposed legislation that is currently in the process under the gold dome .
Legislators that attended also had a chance to share information on the bills they were sponsoring this session . Elected officials in attendance included : Senators Baumgardner , Holbert , Tate , Gardner , Martinez-Humenik , and several House Representatives including Jackson , Winter , Leonard , Lundeen , Moreno and Carter .
With the legislative session just starting , the event served as a great conduit to share recent multifamily housing market place dynamics with state elected officials .
