State Capitol Day Draws Over 100 Attendees
C
olorado Apartment Association members had the opportunity to meet with
several state legislators during the
annual State Capitol Day. “Politics
and Pizza” kicked off the event over lunch at the
Capitol Hill Tavern. The lunch was just the beginning of the government affairs focused day. The
event was held in conjunction with NAIOP and
ICSC Wednesday, February 24th.
Several attendees participated in a tour of the
Capitol shortly after the lunch. After the tour,
attendees headed to the legislator reception at the
University Club just a couple blocks from of the
Capitol. Over 100 attendees were able to network
with legislators and discuss Colorado’s real estate
market. Representatives of each industry group,
including Nancy Burke, VP of Government and
Community Affairs of the Colorado Apartment
Association, were able to share information about
proposed legislation that is currently in the process
under the gold dome.
Joint Legislative Council Chair, Stephanie
Avery of Roundhill Pacific spoke to the group about
upcoming legislation concerning companion animal registration abuse and rent control. She

dynamics with state elected officials. For more
