Person of the Year Finalists
Each year the Apartment Association recognizes someone as the “Person
of the Year.” The following six finalists for the award were announced
at last month’s Rockies PowerMixer. Here is a brief overview of the
nominees. The winner will be recognized at June Awards.
AMY CARDINAL
Wallis Property Company
Year after year, Amy’s contribution to IROC Denver and to this organization is
unparcelled. She is an active member of JLAC, contributing perspective on legislative
issues as an independent rental owner. Amy taught new classes and brought in
additional members this year with enthusiasm and dedication to AAMD.

Danielle has been an outstanding supporter of our advocacy efforts. She often
times will walk new members through what AAMD does to protect the industry at
orientations and other functions. She is a strong ambassador and is always willing to
help new members navigate AAMD.
DENE MERROW

Dene has been an active member of AAMD for many years. He has served on
Supplier Council Leadership for three straight years and a person the Ambassador
team can always count on to help engage his fellow member.
TEO NICOLAIS
Nicolais, LLC
Teo is an integral part of the IROC leadership team and JLAC team, testifying on
behalf of the industry in front of legislators and represented the industry on Colorado
and Company this promoting National Apartment Week. Additionally, he spoke at
both Economic Conferences and assisted AAMD in our Public Relations efforts as the
Vacancy and Rent report spokesperson.

Wyatts Towing
Troy served on several committees including the Economic Conference and JLAC.
He is a dedicated supporter of many of the AAMD programs including Education
Conference, Business to Business, PowerLunch, and Maintenance Olympics.

Laura has served at the Chair of the Education Council for a year and a half. Under
her direction, she helped create, produce curriculum, find instructors, including
herself, and helped create the curriculum for four new educational classes to fit a
niche that was not being tapped.
