HALL OF FAME
Terry Simone
BY LAUREN BROCKMAN
When I volunteered to introduce Terry my first thought was to call his family
and get some good stories. However, I thought better of it. There are
endless stories to tell, and it would have been too difficult to narrow it down.
The truth is Terry has been impactful in our industry since he moved to
Colorado. Terry has not only been an active member of AAMD, serving as
a committee chair for at least five AAMD committees, but has also served
as the NAA Regional VP as well as the Colorado Apartment Association
President.
LAUREN BROCKMAN WITH TERRY SIMONE
Terry continues to be very involved and supportive of the Association's
legislative efforts locally, at the State Capitol and nationally. The past five
years, he has dedicated a great deal of time towards AAMD's charitable
efforts through the Charity Auction and Spring Clean. He has a unique
dedication and friendship, and for all of these things, we are excited to
induct him to the AAMD Hall of Fame.

BY SUSAN LIND
Carol worked for
Asher Investments
for 41 years and
was involved with
acquisition and
management
around 10,000
units in 7 states as
well as managing
the property
management office. Her involvement with AAMD included 10 years
on the Board of Directors, Chair of the Education Committee, served
on many task forces and membership drives and was a founding
member of the Board of Trustees for Workers Comp. for several years.
Tracy Martin worked with Carol for 23 years starting when she was
20 years old and said "Carol was an amazing mentor." She found
Carol to be professional, warm and kind and told her when she retired,
“I have always valued and appreciated your influence, not only with my
career but the effect you had on the overall quality of my life, allowing
me the time to be part of my children’s daily life while still working 23
years for Asher Investments.
Carol and her husband Greg have been married almost 33 years and
are thoroughly enjoying their time together as well as exploring their
individual interests. One of their favorite joint activities is going on
nature walks and hikes in the mountains. They also cook and provide
meals for the homeless. Carol keeps busy with yoga, palates, tai chi,
book club and classes. They are grateful for more time to spend with
family and friends.

Rocky Sundling
BY RHONDA HANSCH
Over the years Rocky has devoted his professional life to this challenging
and entertaining industry, and it has truly been a pleasure to see his growth
and involvement. I’m sure his unique sense of humor is one of the reasons
why he is still relatively sane.
Rocky has also significantly contributed to our industry politically and
demonstrates a passion that is rare and refreshing. He has chaired the
Alliance and the JLAC committee, for more than 4 years now he has been
NAA Region 8 VP. In 2012-2013 he was President of AAMD and he is
currently the incoming president for CAA.
Like all of us in the apartment industry, Rocky is focused on generating
revenue and profit for the investors. He’s a super hero when it comes to
crunching numbers. But more importantly as Rocky looks forward into our
industry and where it is taking us, he embraces all of the new automation
technology our current and near-future generations of renters are
demanding, while still believing in the core value of shelter and protection.
Rocky is respected for his supportiveness and his belief in allowing his
people to truly manage their properties and portfolios, he certainly isn’t a
back-seat manager. He was recently promoted to a Director with Greystar.
Congrats to you Rocky and “More Cowbell”
