Career Strategies Team he 2014 AAMD Ugly Sweater and Comedy Night brought together just over 100 members, in a fun and laid back way to network and celebrate the holidays. The event started with happy hour and the famous “walk the cat-walk” Ugly Sweater competition. 8 men and 10 women were selected by the Networking Council Committee members and ultimately, Dan Wimer from Redi Carpet and Vickie Breaux from Career Strategies were the Ugly Sweater Champions. Each received a $50 gift card and the title of Ugliest Sweater of 2014. Upcoming Supplier’s Council: Supplier’s Council is a free monthly forum specifically for AAMD Supplier Members focused on providing education and networkin opportunities. Vendors come together to learn about topics that effect their business. Meetings are a casual affair with light snacks and refreshments provided. All of the net proceeds from the event were donated to the Kyle O’Connell Foundation, totaling $600. The Kyle O’Connell Foundation was established in memory of Kyle Alexander O’Connell who, in February 2005, at the age of 9, succumbed to brain stem glioma, a pediatric brain cancer. The efforts of the Foundation is to create awareness and raise funds to support pediatric brain tumor research, as well as assisting families impacted by the many struggles associated with pediatric brain tumors.
