David Phifer

David Phifer is the founder and CEO of Apartment and Condominium Concepts
Unlimited – ACCU. Prior to founding ACCU, Dave worked for 15 years in the
industry beginning as a residential manager in 1964 to supplement his income
while attending the University of Minnesota.
He worked with Godwin Bevers and then Van Schaack & Company, where he was
selected three times as the Property Manager of the Year. He then purchased an
ownership position which undertook the formation of ACCU. Dave was awarded
Owner Operator award by AAMD in 1979.

Dave is also a licensed real estate broker in Colorado. He has received many
designations; CMCA, CAPS, and CAM. He is a past president of the Apartment
Association of Metro Denver and a past Chairman of the Board of the National
Apartment Association.
Kal Zeff BY MIKE ZOELLNER
Kal's story is a true rags-to-riches inspiration about an
immigrant whose business savy and personal commitment
made him one of the most successful, though low profile
developers in our city's history. He developed over 10,000
apartment units and at one point had over 300 employees. Kal
also developed office buildings, single family homes and retail.
Kal founded and owned Carmel Companies which was
named after Mount Carmel in Israel, where as a member of Israel's underground
army, he held off arab forces when he was only 21. As an independent owner, Kal
was known to never sell anything and managed his properties to a 2% or 3% vacancy.
Kal supported a number of chairtys around the world but was never interested in
notoriety or recognition.
"Denver's undisputed king of the apartment development business," was how John
Rebchook of the Denver Post once referred to Kal Zeff in an article after his passing in 2005.
