AORE Association News October/November 2018 | Page 15

New in 2018! In the past, a host team local to the destination venue has planned the AORE Annual Conference. A planning team comprised of volunteers living and working throughout the United States will now plan, in part, this event. This opens the door to each and every AORE member who is interested in the planning and implementation of the largest and most visible program of our respective associations.

Volunteering time to support the annual conference can be a phenomenal way to contribute and expand your skills, knowledge and networks. Volunteering also allows you to make a lasting and meaningful impact. Among other things, volunteers:

Articulate common values and collaborate to advance the profession;

Get access to training and development opportunities;

Enhance their experience and resume;

Strengthen their community and networks; and

Connect and network with other like-minded people.

A volunteer Planning Team, comprised of 15 project leads, will support various aspects of the 2018 conference. Each of these 15 project areas is outlined below. Each project lead may recruit one or more members to support the planning/implementation of their project area for the 2018 conference.
