I want to go for all of these things I wanted to do." So
I set out wanting to make a CD, five years ago and I
didn't really know what I was doing. I kind of got
taken advantage of by these producers where I paid
them and they kind of just took my money and
disappeared.
Anzzia: oh no.
Cha Cha: That was really disheartening. But, then I
would say, I took on a mentor who is a singer. I started
following her around to all of her shows. She's also in the D.C. Grammy Chapter, she really got me into the music world and the more I immersed myself in it the more I think
it boosted my confidence more to like, give
it a try, to put just one song out there.
So, I started with just one song.
Anzzia: What was the song?
Cha Cha: It's called Daddy. That was my
first single. Then I made a music video
for it the next year while I was in L.A.
and it was crazy how that happened.
Because I put my website in this group
of models, photographers and actors in
L.A. My mentor goes to The Grammy's
like, every year.
Anzzia: Who is your mentor?
Cha Cha: Her name is Deborah Bond.
So she invited me to The Grammy's one
year. After a couple of
years of mentoring she invited me.
The second time I didn't go to The
Grammy's but, I just went to L.A. with
her. Just to go to some events with
her and stuff like that. Anyways,
these people reached out to me and
they were like "Hey, we want to
shoot a music video for you." I
was like, "Where did you hear my
song?" and they said, "Oh, on
your website when you posted
your link." Mind you I was looking
for photographers to do like,
shoots with. I was not expecting to
run into videographers and it was
these two girls from China. I think
they're from China. They came and
