Anzzia: Why do you do what you do?
Jeanna: My primary focus is to play
strong-willed female characters with a
physical action component because the
world still isn’t used to seeing black
women or women of color as action stars
and badasses.
Anzzia: What’s integral to the work of an
artist?
What role does the artist have in society?
Jeanna: To accurately and realistically
portray characters in film/tv. When it
comes to the action-adventure/sci-fi/
fantasy genre, not every hero is flawless
and not every villain is unredeemable.
For drama, that might mean turning
down a stereotypical black female role.
Anzzia: What work do you most enjoying
doing?
Jeanna: The action-adventure/sci-fi/
antasy genre.
Anzzia: What themes do you pursue?
Jeanna: Strong women themes.
Anzzia: What memorable responses have
you had to your work?
Jeanna: Someone thanking me for
writing, producing, and directing a
YouTube web series called HUNTERS the
Series which dealt with the loss of a
parent.
Anzzia: Professionally, what’s your goal?
Jeanna: To create great stories full time
without having to work a 9-5!
