INTERVIEW

to him starting the agency. He definitely supports everything with my modeling as well as I am a designer, an artist and then he supports my passion, my vision when it comes to being a plus sized model. It is a little bit different so, I am enjoying it.

Anzzia: What are some things that you learned about yourself since working as a model and entertainment in general?

Xavier: Personally, I learned that I have to plan a lot farther into that future then I usually do and that is the answer no matter what. If I plan it a year ahead, I have to plan it a year and a half ahead. If I plan like an hour ahead, I have to plan three hours ahead. I always have to plan ahead and like I said it is more about accepting yourself and accepting what you have done and knowing that you are behind and knowing how to work through being behind.

Cash Lane: In this process of just learning about myself. You realize that you have to take constructive criticism. You have to realize that not everyone is going to love your brand. But, I realized that having a brand, it is an image so when you come somewhere, even if they want you or they do not want you, you have to put on a show. If they don't want you then you realize that It's something that's not for you and you keep going. But, personally, you have to be able to accept that. Be able to accept rejection but, when you aren't selected, do what you have to do so the next time it comes around you won't tell me no.

Malique: One thing that I learned about myself through this whole process is that through everything, like how much of a battle it is with yourself to stay positive and just be patient with things.

Anzzia: Definitely with this industry, stay positive and be patient. /laughs Definitely the best advice.

Kandice: The biggest thing that I have taken away from this is the most confident people you see on social media, typically are the most insecure in real life. That goes for who I have seen as well as many of us so, and competence is more than a look but a journey within yourself. So, just modeling, in general, is learning how to have that armor but, then knowing the difference and when to let people in and how to take that, mold that and make yourself better.

Anzzia: In your time what do you think is your favorite part of modeling? Is it when you are on the runway? Is it when you are in front of the camera? Is it the interaction with the people? What is it that that drives you to want to be a model?

Xavier: Personally, it is meeting talented people that you can vibe off of. The better the person is at their craft and the more you can connect with them, the better you are going to be at your craft as well. It is almost like it's transferable.
