Use of Growth Curves
We consider that using Reference Growth Curves
is a good tool for reaching the goal of achieving
an adequate growth rate and discovering whether
it is normal or not. The main practical implications
would be:
- Measuring the performance of an animal or
group of animals over time
- Comparing growth of individuals with the
expected or “normal” growth for different
genotypes
- For investigations regarding animal response
to different nutritional and/or environmental
conditions
