“He was always outstanding, from the time he was a foal until when he played here for so many seasons. The truth is that he was a horse that gave his all, and Field N°1 was where he liked to play most. He won many prizes here; when I was out of sorts he cheered me up. When I was making mistakes in my play he would help me do it right; that horse gave me everything”. And he added: And Santiago Ballester, President of the AACCP, pointed out: “We hereby present and award the prize of entry into the Hall of Fame to Dolfina Toro, a horse that had been voted by 34 10-goal players at the time for entry into the Hall of Fame, and as he and Open Chequera were still active, they could not enter as it is only for horses no longer active. Toro retired and unfortunately died this year, but we are going to give him entry. Fortunately all the Castagnola family are here to receive the award and the horse-blanket that he may be placed where he deserves. He was a horse that got to play for almost 18 minutes in an Open final; 3 chukkas; he is a milestone in the history of the Polo Argentino horse”. He lived for 18 years and the best version of himself was seen in the 2008 and 2010 finals. He holds the record for minutes played on the field, with over 20 minutes of play. Dolfina Toro was one of the best horses in the history of the Polo Argentino breed. This horse played a total of 20:26 minutes as has been recorded during the final of the 2010 Open, and in 2008 he received the same award (from the AACCP to the best DOLFINA TORO Sire: Sportivo Dam: Julia. Date of Birth: 06/10/1999. registered playing pony), where he played a total of 17:56 minutes. To crown all these distinctions for his sports performance, he received one of the most important awards in the world on two occasions: in 2008 and 2010 to the best Polo Argentino horse of the Argentine Polo Open final. 221
