Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who
generally make $54,000 or less, persons with disabilities, and limited English speaking tax
payers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide
free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filling to qualified individuals.
The VITA MINISTRY is a great tool to reach our community with the message of hope through
Jesus Christ by assisting those who need help in filing their tax returns.
We officially did 232 tax returns for the 2017 tax year. All clients were presented with the
gospel, but salvations were reported. We did give out several Bibles and all the clients were
very appreciative of this service.
