Colorado Volunteers Make-A-Wish® Colorado is especially fortunate to have had the support of nearly 200 regular volunteers this past year, plus an additional 350 one-time volunteers. Spotlight: Event Volunteers Our event volunteers are our unsung heroes, ensuring all types of fundraising events for Make-AWish run smoothly. Whether it’s at one of our major events organized “in-house,” like the Sporting Affair Celebrity Waiter Dinner, or at one of 35-40 smaller community-run events that benefit MakeA-Wish, our event “staff” volunteers excel at working hard, thinking on their feet, and offering friendly smiles and customer service. We’d like to recognize and thank the most dedicated of these volunteers who consistently find the time to work at multiple events every year: Amanda Enloe, Jim Hartman, Robert Kahn, Gini Krutulis, Ari Liston, Barbee and Jim Lux, E-Dee Martin, Susan and Gwen Mayer, Joi Ohara, Chris Peterson, Vicki Rains, and Samantha Sigler. We love being able to work with you. Here’s what some of them have to say about their experiences. “We love helping kids and getting to work with each other and other people who share the same passion and commitment to the organization.” -Barbee and Jim Lux, volunteers since 2009 (photo on left) Volunteer Assignments Do you enjoy giving back by donating your time and talents to local non-profit organizations? If so, please consider helping Make-A-Wish Colorado and you’ll be aiding us in fulfilling our mission! Below are some of the volunteer positions: Special Assignment: Photographers & Videographers Help spread awareness of the Make-A-Wish mission by becoming a photographer or videographer volunteer. Make-A-Wish Colorado has a lot of upcoming events and wishes full of photo and video opportunities featuring our wish kids, volunteers and supporters. Bring wishes and events to life through the art of photography and video! Office Assistant Office/administrative talents can be utilized weekly by answering busy phones, making calls, preparing labels, making copies, filing and taking on simple database entry projects. “My favorite event to volunteer at is the annual Holiday Wish Store. Seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces is what I love most about being an event volutneer. ” -Vicki Rains, volunteer since 2011 (top right photo; on left) “I love being part of an organization that does a lot for kids. I get to help raise funds and raise awareness about Make-A-Wish Colorado, an organization I fell in love with after my first volunteering experience” -Ari Liston, volunteer since 2009 (bottom right photo; on right) Airport Meet and Greet Welcome out-of-state wish children and families to Colorado at PN
