Parks and Recreation Master Plan
Residents ’ input on parks and recreation spaces , facilities , trails , programs and services offered by the District of Lake Country will help the municipality make important decisions on future community investment .
A multi-faceted public engagement process over a six month period garnered significant input from citizens of all ages by using a mobile kiosk approach at various public events and the high school , using social media and traditional media as well as stakeholder workshops .
Residents of all ages and abilities were invited to come out to a ‘ Party in the Park ’ event September 19 , 2015 for some family fun and to share what they value about parks and recreation in the community . The Master Plan will guide planning and decision making related to parks and recreation for the next 20 years .
“ Rather than your typical Open House to get public input , we ’ d like to invite the community to Come Play ! and have some fun in one of the destination parks in Lake Country ,” said Director of Infrastructure Services , Greg Buchholz . “ Come Play ! is the theme for the Parks and Recreation Master Plan so we ’ d like there to be some fun and recreational activities for everyone of all ages to get involved in during the public engagement process . We need everyone out there September 19 th .”
