Of the ninetyone (91) cases disposed in the 2012-2013 Law Term, thirty-one (31) or 34.1% were guilty pleas, twenty-one (21) or 23.1% were guilty verdicts, twenty-six (26) or 28.6% were acquittals and thirteen (13) or 14.3% were disposed by way of discontinuance. ‘Guilty Pleas’ and ‘guilty verdicts’ increased by 93.7% or fifteen (15) and 61.5% or eight (8) respectively, combined they account for 57.1% or fifty-two (52) cases disposed during the 2012-2103 Law Term. 86 Reshaping the Judiciary Identity 26 Discontinued (Charges Dropped) 13
