Table 5 examines the Clearance Rates or Disposals to Filings ratios for Appeals filed
during the 2007-2008 to 2012-2013 law terms. The figures for the 2011-2012 Law
Term show a 13.7% or increase by sixty-six (66) in the number of Appeals filed, and
50.1% or an increase by one hundred and ninety-three (193) in the number of Appeals
disposed over the previous Law Term 2010-2011.
A comparison of the six (6) law terms identified in the table above shows that overall
the number of matters disposed in the 2012-2013 Law Term is the highest among all
the law terms and yielded a clearance ratio of 0.79. This is largely as a result of the
increase in Non-Compliance matters listed and disposed during the period under
review.
